Our Mission

Each child has something within them that is unique…Our teachers will encourage your child to develop that gift.

So Who are We?

In the spring of 1991, the Alliston and District Childcare and Resource Centre (ADCRC) Board was approached by the Alliston and District Children’s Centre, a recently integrated preschool operated by the Community Living Association of South Simcoe (CLASS). The board requested the transfer of the preschool operation from CLASS to ADCRC.

Meet Our Teachers

A Message from Joan – Program Coordinator / Teacher (RECE):

I finished my Early Childhood Education Diploma at North Island College, in British Columbia the summer of 1978. Throughout the years I have worked with children in day cares, at home, community centres and schools. My employment at Creative Kids Preschool started in 1996. I delight in telling stories to the children and hope I can nurture a love of reading in all children. I realize the importance of early literacy and coordinate the Scholastic Book Clubs, library and literacy bags in the centre. – When dawn breaks, make use of all the pieces.

A Message from Natalie – Teacher (RECE):

My name is Natalie Vettor and I have been an Early Childhood Educator at Creative Kids Preschool since November of 2003. I graduated from Humber College of Applied Arts & Technology in August of 1990 with a diploma in Early Childhood Education. With 20 years of experience working with children, I eagerly greet each day with enthusiasm looking forward to the new and exciting adventures it may bring!

A Message from Heather – Teacher (RECE):

My name is Heather Scott. I’m a Registered Early Childhood Educator at Creative Kids Preschool starting October, 2013. I graduated with my ECE from Seneca College in 1987. I began my career as a Supervisor of a Nursery School in Alliston and moved on to work for York Region Children Services at their Vaughan Children’s Centre. It is here, where I returned to college at night and graduated in 1991 with my Early Childhood Resource Teacher Certificate from Seneca College. I returned to my roots to work as a Resource Teacher for 10 years for Community Living Association for South Simcoe (CLASS) in Alliston. My job here put me in an active role on the Operating Committee which founded Creative Kids Preschool some 20+ years ago. Subsequently, I had the pleasure of working here as a Resource Teacher for 7 years.

I left this position to stay at home with our newborn and only child, Cameron. He also attended Creative Kids Preschool 12 years ago! As our family schedule allowed, I managed to stay involved with children and their families through foster care, parent relief, private tutoring, supply work and Educational Assistant contracts with our local school board.

I am so glad to say I have been very fortunate to go full circle and join the awesome team here at Creative Kids Preschool!

Thanks to everyone for such a warm welcome!

A Message from Tracy- Teacher (ECE)

My name is Tracy Martin and I have had the great pleasure of being an E.C.E. at Creative Kids going into my third year.

As well as my E.C.E I have extensive experience in ABA, and working with children with special needs.

I am thrilled to be able to play a small role in helping to guide young children in their learning journeys and experience seeing them reach their full potential.
